WEEK 2

MONDAY 6th February

My feeling that my final pitch for Curtain Call Musical Theatre Society hadn’t been accepted was confirmed. Maybe it’s a good thing as I can have more focus.

Practiced a lot of guitar, and sent it to my mother. I was up all night (take a hint NYT), again giving into that toxic cycle, which at the time gives me such an adrenaline rush and also feeling of freedom from society, but I regret in the morning . However I did sleep for some precious minutes on the couch in the Workstation. Must have done it so many times, my sweat must be embroidered into it, I know I’m disgusting.

I practised Andy Warhol & Rock ‘n Roll Suicide

RIFF:

played this riff, this can be like my Independent Production Project in the final Drama & Theatre semester, it is kind of inspired by a verbatim theatre piece a trio did I saw which went to Zoom when the pandemic first started in Spring 2020. The idea I had that people go around speaking out words that the audience leave throughout the evening, their reflection of their past and looking forward to the future.

In my next tutorial I’ll play the riff to Miranda and ask her to talk about her future if she feels comfortable adding to this part of the performance.

I HEAR PEOPLE SAYING YOU NEED TO MAKE YOUR NOTEBOOK MORE UNDERSTANDABLE AND ACCESSIBLE TO THE READER, THAT MAKES ME WANT TO SCREAM IN THE MIDDLE OF A LECTURE:

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!

TUESDAY 7TH FEB:

Meetin with Osian: Was able to finally have a call with Osian, who composed the music for the finale scene of my Lucida performance on Zoom in the Spring Show back in 2020. It was great to talk to him again we immediately clicked with ideas. He’s been collecting a number of instruments.

Musical Theatre Dramaturgies:

Another module I’m sluttishly sitting on (see what I did there? Sorry…,), and in its second lecture they talk about two types of temporality: Book Time & Lyric Time (add source)

This can influence the music, lyrics, staging and Multimedia aspect of my final performance
