FRIDAY 3rd FEBRUARY:

Going to share my Sunless Sunglasses Poem, to an instrumental track of Kendrick Lamar’s as that inspired it. Wanna perform it at the Takoever with sunglasses on, not gonna have them for tomorrow, but I’ll tell everyone to imagine I’m wearing Sunless Sunglasses .

I admit I got quite protective and emotional over my multimedia. I both love and hate the medium of the pop-up exhibition, it is a chance to condense your work into something so simple and touch people in those few minutes, however. In the end dance with the contemporary and fine art worlds, but it isn’t truly my base, my home, my home is the theatre & music Stages and the cinema. I want to have time to develop bigger concepts, and mix together loads of different artworks, like Richard Wagner’s Gesamtkunstwerk (Total Art Piece), if that isn’t too arrogant, which I know especially for this module and for the Takeover it is.

Target Audiences. Oh dear. Reminded me of when we looked at it in Media Studies, I sometimes can’t think of doing anything worse to your art than catering it to/even giving a moment’s thought to what kind of audience should be watching it, I feel it’s a form of disfigurement. But then I found the different categories of audiences very entertaining and creative, though they still had all those different demographic labels to them.

We then had to think of someone we’d invite to the Takeover who we wouldn’t normally ask to come to an event like this. I really loved this, as it got me thinking, and after deliberating the bouncers through the city and someone else, I decided on someone who works for my Philip Evans Estate. A part of me found it weird, this is the creepy side of target audience, we’re grooming someone into coming to our show. That’s the cynical view, I’m just worried what this person would think, that’s why I won’t mention their name yet.

SATURDAY 4th FEBRUARY:

SUNDAY 5th FEBRUARY:

Meeting with Cameron Fell, 2nd year Drama student, who I met when auditing the Devised Performance Module last semeste. I love his iniative, he has ideas to make the student drama scene more active, something I’ve also wanted to do, I wish we’d met earlier.
