Anything and everything creative can be explored within the Interdisciplinary Practice modules: creative writing, poetry, scriptwriting, drawing, painting, printmaking, animation, film, theatre, sculpture, textiles, photography, graphic design, illustration, music and more..
The Interdisciplinary Practice modules encourage students to conceive and develop a series of independent self – directed interdisciplinary research and practice projects contributing to a portfolio of 6 projects developed over the 3 year course.
The Interdisciplinary Practice modules offer students the opportunity to exhibit their 6 projects in two public exhibitions each year, the first at the School of Art and the second at the RIBA award-winning Aberystwyth Arts Centre, the students stage their site-specific intervention projects in and around the centre in one of the UK’s largest Arts Centre’s and ‘national flagship for the arts’ with over 70,000 visitors a year.
Each semester the the Interdisciplinary Practice modules provide students with an opportunity to work together as a group through a series of 5 weekly practice based group workshops towards a student – led collaborative project.
The Interdisciplinary Practice modules teach students key professional practice skills through the group work, the self-directed practice, the exhibitions and event management opportunities providing students with an awareness, experience and knowledge that they need to move directly into the creative industry.
